Coursera and Udemy completed their corporate merger on May 11, 2026, to create a unified skills development platform. CEO Greg Hart stated that the combination aims to better serve learners, customers, and instructors by integrating the two companies' complementary resources.
The combined network serves 290 million learners and 18,000 enterprise customers, supported by a global ecosystem of 95,000 content creators. The platform currently hosts 315,000 courses from university and industry partners. The company aims to leverage this foundation to transition from a content catalog to a skills delivery platform designed to address needs in the AI era.
There are no immediate changes to existing learner access, subscription pricing, or platform functionality. Similarly, content partners and instructors will see no immediate adjustments to existing contracts or support structures as the companies begin integrating their platforms to connect skill discovery, development, and credentialing.
