Google is transforming Android into an intelligence system through the launch of Gemini Intelligence, a suite of features designed to make mobile devices more proactive and context-aware. The rollout begins this summer for the latest Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones, followed by expansion to watches, cars, glasses, and laptops later in 2026. This platform integrates AI directly into hardware to automate multi-step workflows across various applications.
Gemini Intelligence enables the automation of complex tasks, such as booking fitness classes or locating specific documents within Gmail. By utilizing visual context from screenshots and on-screen text, the system can initiate immediate actions. Chrome on Android will also receive updates in late June, including tools for web research, summarization, and automated booking services. Additionally, Google is enhancing its Autofill capabilities via Personal Intelligence, allowing users to opt into filling complex forms with data from connected apps.
New communication and personalization tools include Rambler, a Gboard feature that polishes spoken input by removing filler words and supporting multilingual messages. Users can also leverage Create My Widget to generate custom interfaces, such as meal prep suggestions or weather dashboards, using natural language prompts. These features are presented within a Material 3 Expressive design, which is intended to minimize distractions through purposeful animations and a refined visual structure.
