Kev 4B
Kev 4B is a small decision-only AI from developer Jared Palmer: instead of writing text, it returns a yes/no answer, a choice, or a score along with a probability. It adds a thin trained layer and an answer-picking part on top of an unchanged small Alibaba Qwen base model, and anyone can download and run it themselves under the Apache license. It accepts TypeSafe's Jev request format, so a program using Jev can switch to a self-hosted model. Despite the English-only label, it handled our Korean and Japanese judgment tests at a below-middle level with well-calibrated confidence, and it won every Pong match given enough time, but slow answers left it behind when time was short. The developer says it handles English only, has been checked only on short documents, may change its answer when the order of options changes, and trails Jev on public tests. On OpenRouter we called it only through the serving company that allows benchmarking.
