Apple Plans Korean Siri AI Launch This Month
  • •Apple plans to launch Korean-language Siri AI in South Korea this month.
  • •The assistant will use personal records and web information to organize searches, notes and calendar entries from screen content.
  • •Apple is pursuing Naver and Kakao integrations, using Google’s Gemini model and emphasizing data deletion.

Apple plans to launch Siri AI in South Korea this month, expanding support to Korean and other languages. The assistant can understand conversational context and screen information, then perform tasks across apps. According to the information and communications technology industry on the 21st, Apple plans to expand language support after starting an English-only beta last month.

Siri AI combines personal data stored on a device with web information to handle tasks such as searching, organizing and sharing. If asked to find a recipe for pumpkin porridge eaten on a past trip and send a link, it can retrieve a relevant link from past records. It can then organize the ingredients in the Notes app by supermarket section. Apple says Siri AI carries out tasks, while existing conversational AI only answers based on questions or supplied material. Users confirm actions before Siri executes them, so their final intent is reflected.

The assistant also includes Visual Intelligence, which recognizes images captured by the camera and information displayed on screen. When a user photographs a poster for an event running over several days, Siri can analyze the program and suggest adding events to the calendar. A dedicated Siri AI app lets users review and continue past conversations, or convert voice conversations to text. Conversations also sync across Apple Vision Pro, Mac, iPad and other devices so users can continue tasks when switching devices.

Apple is optimizing Siri AI for global apps such as Outlook and Craft, as well as apps from South Korean developers. Naver and Kakao are reportedly participating in integration work. Google’s Gemini model serves as the engine for the overhaul. Apple says Siri AI operates within its security architecture and, when server processing is needed, ends the session and deletes information immediately after processing. Yonhap News reported the planned domestic launch this month; it did not give a specific release date.
