Blue Yonder launched its AI-native Order Management Solution on November 5 as part of its Cognitive Solutions portfolio. The cloud-native, modular product connects each order’s journey from delivery promise through fulfillment, customer service and returns, aiming to help retailers and distributors protect sales, reduce fulfillment costs and keep customer commitments when priorities change.
Commerce, planning and execution systems often do not coordinate around orders in real time, leading to broken customer promises, unavailable products being shown, cancellations and lost sales. Blue Yonder chief product officer Gurdip Singh said the solution combines the company’s unified decision-making with AI agents and intelligence from across its portfolio, bringing operators context and actions intended to shorten the delay between insight and execution.
The solution coordinates on-hand, in-transit and on-order inventory with item and customer order lifecycles across allocation, sourcing, promising, service and returns. It interoperates with inventory planning, warehouse and logistics fulfillment systems, allowing teams to view and adjust orders at scale to improve service, cost and margin. Fulfillment and Customer Service Agents flag orders and risks needing attention, explain why an order is at risk and outline trade-offs. Operators act within business-set permissions and guardrails; configurable workspaces tailor the view to each team.
For wholesale, distribution and hybrid B2B/B2C businesses, the system supports shared inventory with different rules by account, channel and contract, and can rebalance supply across customer and channel priorities as conditions change. Blue Yonder says it plans further investment in advanced B2B order management. Real-time inventory intelligence includes stock at stores, distribution centers and suppliers, shipments in transit and eligible returns, supporting delivery promises and reducing overselling, preventable cancellations and lost sales. Intelligent Rebalancer reallocates and re-promises large volumes of orders when supply, demand or capacity changes. Smart Disposition uses business rules and profitability considerations to route returned items for resale, repair, return to vendor or elsewhere.
Customers can begin with core order management and add services such as store fulfillment and online returns without replacing surrounding systems. On Black Friday in 2025, Blue Yonder Order Management processed 7 million order reservations and powered over 133 million estimated delivery date calculations.
