Crisp Launches Halo Retail AI Platform
  • •Crisp launched Halo, a retail AI platform built on its Retail Data Foundation for CPG brands and retail partners.
  • •Halo can run in a customer’s infrastructure; Databricks integration uses Unity Catalog governance and Model Serving inference.
  • •Central Desk and Customer Desk launched with customizable reports and queries across retail data by SKU in seconds.

Crisp launched Halo, an AI platform for consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands, brokers, distributors and retailers that runs on their existing retail data and workflows. Built on the Crisp Retail Data Foundation, Halo combines agentic AI with sales and supply chain data to analyze sales, revenue, inventory and retail performance, investigate why results occur, and support immediate changes. Crisp says teams can get trusted answers in seconds.

Halo gives CPG brands access to retail-partner data down to the stock-keeping unit (SKU) or store level. Customers can enrich data to match their product hierarchy and customize workflows within a shared data governance layer. Organizations with data residency or security requirements can run Halo inside their own infrastructure, keeping retail data in their environment. Databricks says Halo runs in customers’ Databricks workspaces, using Unity Catalog for governance and Model Serving for inference.

Crisp also launched two products within Halo. Central Desk serves category management, revenue growth management, sales strategy and supply chain planning teams, providing portfolio-wide views across products, stores and distribution centers. Teams can trace movement to specific stores and items and identify events driving changes. Customer Desk is for account teams working with national retailers; it includes metrics, operational logic and terminology tailored to each retailer. Both products let brands create customized reports and query the retail data behind dashboard elements across SKUs in seconds.

Crisp says leading CPG companies tested Halo through its Beta program and have begun finding insights with national retail partners. Kettle Cuisine CEO Peter Hall said his team’s challenge was the time needed to analyze each account, SKU and scenario. He said AI must be designed for CPG and properly governed, and described Halo as enabling earlier decisions using trusted data while running in a company’s own environment.
