The Digital Asset Regulatory Authority (DARA) will host a series of international regulatory working sessions during Maryland Blockchain Career & Innovation Week, scheduled for July 13-17, 2026, at Capitol Technology University in Laurel, Maryland. The event aims to provide delegates from government, industry, and academia with direct exposure to policy development in the digital asset and artificial intelligence sectors. The program will feature four distinct working groups designed to foster cross-border cooperation and practical, industry-led guidance before formal regulations are established.

The DARA Africa Task Force will focus on regulatory harmonization and capacity building among its multi-nation coalition members, continuing the group’s 2026 agenda. Simultaneously, the Asia Task Force will convene to coordinate digital asset oversight, with a specific focus on identifying opportunities for mutual recognition and alignment between Asian markets and the global digital asset economy.

The Consortium of Stablecoin Issuers (COSI) will meet to discuss self-regulatory practices, including standards for custodian qualification and reserve disclosure requirements for stablecoin operators. Additionally, Bourn Collier, senior counsel at BeesMont Law, will present a proposed framework for validating agentic AI (autonomous systems capable of executing complex tasks). This model suggests tethering AI agents to accountable legal entities using a shared identity approach to ensure safety and predictability as these systems expand into finance and commerce.

These sessions are organized under the broader Maryland Blockchain Career & Innovation Week, hosted by the Maryland Blockchain Association, an organization focused on workforce development and promoting blockchain application across Maryland. DARA continues to work with regulators and industry stakeholders to develop registration frameworks and best practices for responsible innovation in the digital asset industry.
