- •Happy Ring cleared for at-home multi-night sleep testing and 24/7 biometrics in June 2025
- •Company says device diagnoses sleep apnea, insomnia and other sleep conditions in three nights with 98% accuracy
Happy Health, an Austin, Texas digital health company, raised a $75 million Series A round to expand an artificial intelligence-powered platform for continuous home-based care, starting with sleep apnea and sleep medicine. ARCH Venture Partners and OpenLoop led the funding, and ARCH Venture Partners managing director Paul Berns said the company combines continuous physiological monitoring with physician-guided care to move more diagnosis and care into the home.
Happy Health’s first application focuses on sleep, which executives described as “one of the richest windows into human physiology.” Its clinical-grade Happy Ring received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval in October 2024, and Happy Sleep, the company’s sleep medicine platform, includes board-certified sleep physicians. The company says its services are in network with most major health insurance plans, including Blue Cross and Medicare.
The Happy Ring was approved for at-home sleep testing in June 2025, making it the first FDA-cleared smart ring for multi-night sleep testing and 24/7 biometrics, according to the company. Happy Health says its sensors collect over 2.8 million biometric measurements every night, while AI and first-principles physiological models (physics-based body-system modeling) help physicians compare each patient against an individualized baseline rather than population averages.
Happy Health says the device can diagnose obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia and other sleep-related conditions in as few as three nights with 98% accuracy. Founder and CEO Dustin Freckleton, M.D., said he had a stroke at 24 and went undiagnosed with sleep apnea for another seven years; executives said the same platform may eventually support physician-guided detection and management across cardiovascular, metabolic and other chronic diseases.
