Indian Corporates Strengthen AI Security Defenses
- •Indian corporations in banking and infrastructure are rapidly maturing their defenses against rising AI cybersecurity threats.
- •Palo Alto Networks reports that three of its largest historical deals in Asia originated from Indian clients.
- •President BJ Jenkins warns that cyber-attackers will soon replicate capabilities similar to restricted models like Claude Mythos.
Major Indian corporations are increasingly strengthening their cybersecurity defenses in response to a surge in AI-driven threats, according to William D. Jenkins Jr., president of the cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks. During an interview on June 23, 2026, Jenkins highlighted that the firm is witnessing growing demand for security solutions not only from top-tier enterprises but also from millions of mid-tier companies across India.
Jenkins noted that Indian clients within the banking, telecommunications, and infrastructure sectors are among the firm's largest globally and exhibit high levels of maturity regarding security protocols. He stated that three of the largest contracts in the company's history within Asia were established with these Indian organizations.
The executive warned that although the Claude Mythos model, developed by the startup Anthropic, remains restricted by US government mandates, it is likely that cyber-attackers will soon develop similar malicious tools. This expected shift in the threat landscape is anticipated to contribute to an increase in security breaches, further necessitating proactive defense strategies among corporate entities.
