Infinitus, a company specializing in artificial intelligence for healthcare communications, launched a new risk detection system called Clinical Escalations on Thursday, June 25, 2026. The system is designed to ensure that AI agents correctly triage patients by continuously monitoring interactions for emergent clinical situations, regardless of the patient's stated intent. Clinical Escalations utilizes the Schmidt Thompson Call Prioritization Index (CPI) framework to assign a severity score to each patient interaction in real time.

According to Infinitus CEO and co-founder Ankit Jain, the tool addresses the risk of under-triage, where patients receive a lower urgency classification than their actual health condition warrants. The system is trained on real-world patient conversations, accounting for diverse factors such as literacy levels, emotional state, and clarity. All exchanges are logged for human review, providing clinical teams with a documented record of every escalation decision made by the AI.

Accompany Health, an at-home care provider serving complex patient populations, is currently piloting the technology to enhance its triage capabilities. Clinical Escalations is now available to all existing Infinitus customers. This release follows the company’s launch of Infinitus Studio in April, an AI agent builder tailored for healthcare, as well as a suite of engagement tools for healthcare payers introduced in February 2026.
