- •Skills can include templates and examples; agents can invoke them or lawyers can select them for legal tasks.
Legora launched Skills for agents on its legal AI platform and added a library of more than 250 ready-made skills that legal teams can adapt. The company says the feature lets lawyers encode their work methods so an agent can carry out tasks to the team’s standards. Other legal AI companies, including major language-model providers such as Anthropic, have introduced similar agent skills and libraries.
A Skill is a set of natural-language instructions saved as a Markdown file that guides an agent through a specific legal task. It can record a team’s standards, processes and preferences, and can be used for work such as reviewing a document in a specified way or searching files for particular information while following given instructions.
Legora says a Skill can also contain reference materials, templates and past examples, including examples of outputs to avoid. Agents can invoke a Skill when relevant, or lawyers can select one themselves; users can read, edit, export and update Skills as their work changes.
Legora says its library contains more than 250 Skills built by its legal engineers across practice areas and jurisdictions, including litigation, real estate, corporate law and in-house work. The publisher says such skills can support longer, multi-part legal tasks and improve efficiency if agents deliver the requested work. It also notes that the underlying technology comes from language-model providers and is not unique to Legora; it identifies Legora’s platform, tools, connections, interface and working context as the company’s value in bringing the skills together.
