LG Corp. CEO Koo Kwang-mo will chair business reviews across all affiliates over about one month, assessing this year’s business results and next year’s strategy. Each affiliate’s chief executive and business division heads will attend. The reviews will begin with electronics affiliates including LG Electronics, LG Display and LG Innotek, followed by chemical affiliates such as LG Energy Solution and LG Chem, then telecommunications and services affiliates including LG Uplus and LG CNS. LG announced the schedule on the 19th.

The meetings are expected to examine business opportunities based on the group’s AI strategy and partnerships with global technology companies, along with plans for each affiliate to carry them out. They are also expected to connect future growth strategies discussed at this year’s executives’ meetings with individual affiliates’ business plans. LG’s key topics at meetings in March, June and September included execution of its AI transformation (AX) strategy, “winning” research and development (R&D), and refining its investment strategy, respectively.

At the September executives’ meeting, LG identified AI factories, physical AI and AX as key areas of competition in the AI era, and reviewed investment results and strategy. Koo urged executives to act quickly and execute persistently to succeed in those areas. The business reviews are expected to discuss how that strategy will be reflected in affiliate plans.

The reviews are also expected to cover follow-up plans for turning LG’s partnerships with Nvidia and Microsoft (MS) into tangible results. This year, LG advanced cooperation with Nvidia in AI factories, physical AI and mobility, and agreed to expand its cooperation with Microsoft across AI infrastructure. According to the report, executives will examine implementation plans for these partnerships.

The reviews will run for about one month, in the order of electronics, chemicals, then telecommunications and services. Affiliate executives will assess this year’s results and next year’s plans, and discuss incorporating group growth strategy and AI-related partnerships into their business plans. Koo will chair the reviews for all affiliates. The report does not specify business targets or investment amounts to be finalized at the meetings.
