- •Meta announces Muse Charm, a pocket-sized device dedicated to its personal AI agent Muse.
- •Muse can handle bookings, shopping and inbox management, while asking users to approve important actions.
- •Reports say Muse Charm is expected to ship in December 2026; Meta also plans to bring Muse to AI glasses.
Meta unveiled Muse Charm, a pocket-sized AI device resembling a Tamagotchi, at its Meta Connect 2026 event on September 24, 2026. The device is designed for voice conversations with Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent. Meta says it will release more product information in the second half of 2026.
Meta’s official product page calls Muse Charm the first device designed exclusively for Muse. In the announcement video, a character appeared on the screen of a device small enough to fit in a palm. It is intended to let people talk and interact with Muse alongside the agent’s smartphone and PC apps. Reuters reported that Meta plans to ship the device for the December 2026 holiday season. The Japanese product page says it is not yet available in the region.
Muse can handle everyday tasks such as arranging bookings and managing an inbox, in addition to conversation. According to an explanation from its developers, Muse uses a dedicated computer environment and web browser to search for information, fill out forms, and make reservations or purchases. It can keep working in the background after the app is closed, while users can review activity logs and approved permissions. By default, Muse asks for user confirmation before important actions such as sending email or making a purchase. These are Muse’s capabilities; Meta has not said which will be available on Muse Charm or how people will use them on the device.
At Meta Connect 2026, the company also demonstrated Muse’s voice features. Muse can continue working in the background during a conversation, and users can change its speaking speed and accent by voice. Meta said it plans to bring Muse to AI glasses in the coming months, where the glasses are intended to recognize items or signs in front of the wearer and act accordingly. The timing for Muse on AI glasses in Japan is unknown. Meta has not explained how the same voice and task features will work on Muse Charm. The device’s detailed specifications and availability plans for Japan have not been announced. Meta has cited the second half of 2026 for further information, while Reuters reported a planned shipment for the December 2026 holiday season; the reports do not provide detailed specifications.
