Natura, an artificial intelligence and hardware startup, has debuted the Interface, a $99 smart ring designed to let users interact with AI agents that complete tasks and track health, according to a TechCrunch report published Thursday, October 8. Founder Carlo Edoardo Ferraris said years of consumer hardware development convinced him that AI needed an interface through which people could make requests as they would to another person.

Natura says the ring can remain on a user 24/7, including while showering or sleeping. Described examples include asking it to track a run, provide the day’s schedule after waking, order shampoo during a shower, or turn off a television and set a morning alarm.

PYMNTS Intelligence research found that 56% of consumers permit an AI agent to search and compare products, while 51% would let one manage a loyalty program; 35% would allow an agent to access saved payment credentials. A separate report said most consumers would let agents make purchases if suitable safeguards are in place.

A January PYMNTS Intelligence report found interest in AI-native commerce but said consumer trust remains tied to familiar payment credentials and credit card networks. It said wider use of AI agents for purchases and financial tasks would depend on transparent controls, clear data governance, and choices anchored in banks, wallets, and card networks rather than the AI layer alone.
