NVIDIA Expands AI Services for Cities
- •NVIDIA and partners are expanding physical and agentic AI services for cities worldwide.
- •ITMAX is scaling vision agents to support 17,000+ cameras by 2027 in Malaysia.
- •Taiwan urban forest simulations take 10 minutes for 15-year outcomes, down from two weeks per design iteration.
NVIDIA and its partners are expanding physical AI and AI agents in cities worldwide, building on initiatives announced at GTC Berlin. The systems use city data from cameras, sensors and operational systems to support planning, maintenance and public services, while local governments retain control over how sensitive data is processed. Shared computing infrastructure lets departments, neighboring municipalities and local developers build services without each organization buying and managing its own resources. Depending on the workload, a city can start with an NVIDIA RTX workstation or a small GPU system.
In Spain, 1MillionBot combines open source ALIA models trained at Barcelona Supercomputing Center with NVIDIA Nemotron and other models in resident-service agents for Madrid Digital, the Comunidad de Madrid, and Administració Oberta de Catalunya. The agents handle municipal procedures, appointment requests, urban-planning incidents and service inquiries, with 150+ deployments across Spain. In the San Francisco Bay Area, LiveX is using NVIDIA Cosmos world models, Nemotron open models, and Omniverse and Metropolis libraries on RTX PRO GPUs for conversational AI hosts that answer questions and take action in airports, hospitals, events and other public spaces. Vision agents can analyze existing city camera feeds to identify mobility and safety issues and coordinate emergency responses.
In Wrocław, Poland, K2K is building shared infrastructure with NVIDIA accelerated computing, Cosmos world reasoning models and the Metropolis Blueprint for video search and summarization, applying camera streams to mobility, safety and event response. In Malaysia, ITMAX offers managed city infrastructure and AI applications, including traffic management. Its SamurAI V2 vision agents run on RTX PRO 6000 GPUs and are scaling to support 17,000+ cameras by 2027. ITMAX also integrates Laplace Intelligence’s open source TeraSim traffic simulator to test signal timing, reducing peak-hour corridor travel times by up to 26%.
At Nigeria’s Lekki refinery, Honeywell Technologies’ Forge Plant Cognition uses Nemotron-powered agents to interpret operational data. A plant digital twin built with Omniverse libraries is planned for simulation and training; the platform helps operators find bottlenecks, anticipate equipment and process issues, and optimize performance. In Taiwan, Linker Vision and architecture firm MVRDV are building environmental, social and governance agents with Omniverse and Nemotron. They simulate 15-year outcomes for urban forest canopy plans in 10 minutes, cutting design iterations from two weeks to less than an hour.
At Morocco’s Tanger Med port, Cires Technologies is expanding a sovereign AI factory for planned worker safety, congestion analysis, cargo routing and port operations applications, while developing local model and application providers. Barcelona Supercomputing Center’s AI Factory Accelerator Programme provides startups sovereign computing, technical support and training, and supports research and innovation across agriculture, medical imaging, knowledge access and speech services. NVIDIA will present its city AI ecosystem at Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, running Nov. 3-5, with a keynote by EMEA Vice President Paolo Guglielmini and a panel moderated by Charbel Aoun.
