OpenAI Models Coming to Google Cloud
  • •OpenAI and Google Cloud plan to add OpenAI models and Codex workflows to Model Garden
  • •Customers can buy the models through Google Cloud Marketplace and draw on GCP spending commitments
  • •Availability is planned in the coming weeks; Microsoft remains OpenAI’s primary cloud partner

OpenAI and Google Cloud announced a partnership on October 21, 2026, to bring OpenAI’s frontier models and Codex agentic workflows into Google Cloud’s Model Garden. Customers will get native access to the models, backed by Google Cloud’s data governance and high-performance infrastructure, to run complex agentic workflows at scale. General availability is planned in the coming weeks.

The integration combines OpenAI models with Google Cloud’s built-in access controls, centralized data governance, and infrastructure for enterprise workloads. OpenAI says this setup is intended to help organizations in regulated industries control who can access sensitive data and how it is used. Google Cloud customers will be able to purchase the models through Google Cloud Marketplace, and enterprises with Google Cloud spending commitments can apply those commitments to purchases.

OpenAI models are also planned for Google Antigravity and the Gemini Agent, giving enterprise customers flexibility to choose a model for each task. OpenAI President and co-founder Greg Brockman said the partnership will make OpenAI models and Codex available where customers already build. Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said the broader model selection will help customers choose models for quality and lower costs. Microsoft remains OpenAI’s primary cloud partner.
