- •Now Nudge gains 8 languages, while Bixby adds 3 for a total of 12.
- •Bixby’s new languages arrive October 14; Galaxy AI languages roll out from late October, varying by country and device.
Samsung Electronics said it is expanding the languages supported by Galaxy AI and Bixby. Galaxy AI’s key features will support 24 languages, while Bixby will support 12 after adding 3 to its previous 9. Samsung said more users can control devices in their everyday language and use Galaxy features such as interpretation and search.
Malay and Hungarian will be added to the 22 languages supported by Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter and Writing Assist. These tools can translate and summarize text, turn speech into text, and interpret calls in real time. Samsung cited Korean users visiting Malaysia or Hungary as examples of people who could use interpretation in the local language.
Now Nudge, which reads what is on screen and suggests actions for the situation, will expand from 16 languages by adding 8, bringing its total to 24. Bixby, described as the device’s agent, will add Polish, Thai and Vietnamese. Users can request functions in everyday language without knowing the exact setting name or where a menu is located.
Bixby’s added languages will be available from October 14, while Galaxy AI’s added languages are scheduled to roll out in stages from late October. Availability dates and features may vary by country and device, and some of Galaxy AI’s added languages require downloading a language pack in Settings. Bixby requires a Samsung account sign-in and a data connection; its available features may also vary by country, region and language. Samsung cautioned that the system may not recognize every accent, dialect or expression, and that performance can depend on pronunciation, volume and the surrounding environment.
