ShipStation announced an expanded set of generative and predictive AI features for its shipping platform on October 28. The company says the tools use its shipping volume data to anticipate merchants’ needs, automate shipment details and let businesses ask questions about shipping data in natural language. ShipStation Chief Product Officer Travis Rimel said the capabilities are intended to help merchants protect margins and scale.

The AI auto-fill feature learns each merchant’s shipment settings, including package type, weight and service level, then applies those settings to future orders. Since launch, it has pre-filled 1.4 million labels per week. Average label creation time fell 35%, from about 100 seconds to about 65 seconds, and merchants leave up to 97% of suggested values unchanged. The feature is enabled by 69% of active ShipStation sellers.

ShipStation also introduced three AI agents for conversational analytics, which answers questions using a merchant’s own platform data. Shipping & Cost Optimizer analyzes costs by zone, service and carrier, delivery speed, return-label costs and potential savings. Business Overview answers questions about orders, shipments, tracking, top products and returns. Warehouse & Inventory Manager reports on picker performance, processing times, batch efficiency, stock levels, low-stock alerts and reorder status. The company positions the tools as a way for small businesses without data teams to analyze shipping operations without spreadsheet expertise.
