SK hynix said on the 30th that it will accept applications for rolling entry-level hiring from August 20 to 26, 2026, and revamp its recruitment process to select talent suited to the AI era. Open roles span major job categories including design, devices, R&D process, and mass-production technology, with work locations in Icheon, Cheongju, Bundang, and Seoul. Under the company’s policy announced in June 2026 to fully remove education requirements, anyone may apply regardless of age or academic background.
SK hynix will introduce Half-day in-depth interviews instead of the previous 20- to 30-minute interviews. Applicants will complete tasks and sit for interviews over half a day, while the company evaluates job expertise, AI application skills, humanities literacy, and logical thinking in an integrated way. SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won has emphasized that the AI era needs people who can cross different domains and design systems and societies where humans and AI coexist, as well as “thinking muscle,” the ability to ask and reason through the essence of a problem.
The document-screening stage will also shift toward capabilities. SK hynix will remove the existing self-introduction questions and introduce a new form where applicants describe their “AI utilization capability” and “semiconductor job expertise.” The company said the aim is to identify, from the document stage, candidates’ potential to apply AI flexibly at work and solve difficult problems in the field, rather than relying on simple credentials or formulaic introductions.
Recruitment briefings will move away from a university-campus-centered model to open regional recruiting hubs in 4 areas: Seoul, Cheongju, Daegu, and Gwangju. The company said the sessions will not be limited to students at specific universities, but will offer young people and next-generation talent interested in the semiconductor industry opportunities to learn about the industry’s vision and explore career paths.
SK hynix will also hold an AI hackathon competition in Q4 2026. Participants will take on a timed challenge to solve problems from semiconductor worksites using AI, and high performers will receive a fast-track benefit that exempts them from document screening and gives them a direct interview opportunity. A recruitment official said the company redesigned its hiring system to move beyond credential and document evaluation and assess fundamental problem-solving ability and practical skills. Recruitment details and briefing schedules are available on SK hynix’s official recruitment website. Job seekers can apply to attend briefings through the website.
