- •Snowflake announced CoCo updates that let autonomous Cloud Agents run complex work after users step away.
- •CoCo adds recurring automations, audit trails, shared skills, Agent Profiles and project-scoped Memory.
- •Teams can use CoCo across Snowsight, desktop, CLI, mobile, Slack and apps through the generally available SDK.
Snowflake announced updates to CoCo, its agentic development tool, on November 3, 2026. The updates let teams delegate complex tasks to autonomous Cloud Agents that continue running after users step away, working with governed company data, existing practices and approved tools. Cloud Agents are Snowflake-managed runtimes in Snowsight; they execute code in a secure sandbox and can run long sessions independently.
CoCo mode adds a full-screen Snowsight workspace with subagents for multistep tasks, live previews of apps or reports under construction, and Git integration to clone, branch, commit and push repositories and open pull requests for review. Automations let users assign recurring tasks once and run them on a schedule or when an event or webhook triggers them. Each runs under its creator's permissions and policies, and leaves an audit trail of what it checked, found and did.
CoCo connects to company data, processes and external tools through MCP servers. Administrators manage connectors centrally with Cortex AI Gateway Tools, which is in public preview. Skills and plugin sharing is generally available, allowing teams to share processes privately with roles or publish them in the Snowsight catalog, where administrators certify versions. Agent Profiles define an agent's default model, skills, tools and context for new sessions.
Memory, in public preview across Snowsight, CLI and CoCo Desktop, can save user corrections and decisions for later sessions; memories remain scoped to their originating project. CoCo offers Auto-intelligent, which uses the most capable approved models at every step, and Auto-efficient, which routes tasks dynamically among approved models. Auto-efficient is in public preview, and administrators set the account's default tier.
Teams can use CoCo in Snowsight, CoCo Desktop, the CLI, Snowflake's mobile app and Slack. The mobile app supports starting and steering cloud sessions, approving tool calls and plans, and sending follow-ups; Slack lets users ask questions, start tasks and receive answers governed by Snowflake permissions. The generally available Cortex Agent SDK provides typed Python and TypeScript clients for embedding CoCo sessions and Cortex Agents in apps, streaming results, running background jobs and managing threads and feedback.
