Team Air Reports 2,000 Hours Saved With AI Agents
- •Team Air agents cut inventory and customer-credit searches from 15 to 20 minutes to about 60 seconds
- •Invoice-processing automation reached 75%, above the 60% to 70% target, saving more than 2,000 hours annually
- •Team Air is exploring purchasing and procure-to-pay automation after accounts payable and receivable
Team Air Distributing introduced AI agents in Infor Velocity Suite to help employees find inventory across locations and check customer credit information. Before the rollout, employees could spend 15 to 20 minutes searching or calling branches; the agents surface answers in about 60 seconds. Because staff already used Infor’s ERP, they could ask questions through a chatbot in their usual workflows rather than learn a separate application. The company focused on time-consuming tasks employees already faced.
Team Air set targets before implementation for invoice-processing automation of 60% to 70%. The team reported reaching 75% and saving more than 2,000 hours annually. Employees can use the time freed from manually reviewing, coding and reconciling invoices for customer support and more complex work. Process mining in Infor Velocity Suite lets the team compare workflows before and after implementation, including time savings and error rates.
Team Air says connecting systems on the back end required work, but it assessed success by employee adoption, use and trust, not deployment alone. The company also built a guarded connection to Claude Haiku behind the scenes so employees can ask broader questions beyond the agents’ focused use cases. It plans to continue exploring process mining and identify other high-friction tasks to automate. After accounts payable and receivable, it is looking at purchasing and procure-to-pay processes, where automation could reduce manual work and leave employees more time for supplier negotiations.
