Tilon Unveils DstationX and AI Services
  • •Tilon unveiled DstationX and two AI services at TheOtherDay in Jeju.
  • •DstationX has five editions, with 10 perpetual and annual subscription licenses listed.
  • •Tilon presented deployments for 43,000 postal workers and 5,381 VDI devices at Jeju National University.

Tilon held its annual TheOtherDay conference at Maison Glad Jeju on the 5th, unveiling DstationX, a next-generation virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution, and two AI services, TheOtherTown and Kstory.ai. Vice President Choi Jin-wook said Tilon had recorded an 83.2% share of the public procurement VDI market over the past 6 years, serving about 850 organizations and companies and 550,000 users. He said the company would help businesses and public institutions respond to the AI transformation (AX).

Deputy General Manager Min Kyung-sik said DstationX includes screen and document watermarks, automatic blocking of screen captures to trace leaks, administrator portal access controls, and multi-tenant features that separate environments across organizations. It also applies zero-trust security policies that verify the reliability of PCs, tablets, and mobile devices. The solution connects to I-Station, an internal private large language model, and includes a unified portal for external AI services such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, with data leak prevention and token usage management.

Tilon organized DstationX into 5 editions for different workloads: DstationX for standard office VDI; DstationXE for CAD, 3D design, and computer graphics using GPU partitioning; XT for software development; XI for building AI education and research platforms; and DstationX-ABT for computer-based testing. The products were listed on the Digital Service Mall as 5 perpetual licenses and 5 annual subscriptions, for 10 license options in total. Tilon said customers could validate and expand their infrastructure in stages after adoption.

General Manager Ko Seong-hyun introduced TheOther.Space 2.0, powered by the OpenStack-based X-Stack engine. Tilon said it reduces licensing costs and improves scalability. Its security policies vary by access environment: clipboard use and screen capture are allowed on the internal network, while leak-prevention policies apply to external access. Ko said Tilon would continue developing the platform so organizations could use AI without external data leaks.

General Manager Lee Chun-sung introduced TheOtherTown, which consists of I-Station for AI use and management, and T-Station for AI development and practice. I-Station uses document access controls based on RBAC and ABAC to let AI work with internal security documents. T-Station quickly provisions GPU resources and Jupyter and VS Code development environments for professors, researchers, and developers, reducing infrastructure setup time. Kstory.ai was unveiled as a creative service for the general public, seniors, and students. Tilon said it was expanding from on-premises solutions into SaaS services and plans to develop an integrated platform where AI agents can work safely around the clock in independent DaaS environments.

Tilon said it built a public DaaS environment for 43,000 employees of the Korea Post with KT Cloud. It also supplied virtualization environments to 5 LG Group affiliates, Lotte Group, and the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service. The company cited replacement of the Supreme Court's internet network with domestic VDI and domestic product wins over VMware and Citrix at organizations including the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. At Jeju National University, Tilon deployed 5,381 VDI devices and what it described as the first sovereign AI based on I-Station at a national university.

CEO Choi Baek-jun said Jeju should implement RE100 and build data centers that use clean energy to create jobs and industries for the AI era. He said Tilon would advance its technology to use AI resources such as GPUs efficiently and prevent data leaks. The conference also included presentations on development of TheOtherTown and Kstory.ai, KT Cloud's public DaaS, and sovereign AI and GPU virtualization services.
