White & Case made a strategic investment in Clauze, a Saudi-based legal AI platform founded by Waad Alkurini, a former White & Case lawyer who worked more than a decade at the firm and most recently served as Executive Partner of its Riyadh office. Clauze is designed for companies in Saudi Arabia and the wider region, with tools for contract review, governance management, due diligence, risk and obligation identification, and legal decision support.

Alkurini is understood to have worked on matters for Saudi organizations including Red Sea Global and Aramco, and she previously had a secondment to the Ministry of Finance. White & Case said she qualified in both New York and Saudi Arabia and advised sponsors, lenders, and government clients on some of the Kingdom’s largest infrastructure and energy transactions.

Clauze offers a VDR (secure deal-document workspace), bilingual capabilities, full data residency in Saudi Arabia, and on-premises deployment. The platform is positioned as a “CLM-plus” system, referring to contract lifecycle management plus wider in-house legal functions.

Heather McDevitt, Chair of White & Case, said AI is reshaping legal services delivery and that the firm wants to be at the forefront of that change in Saudi Arabia. White & Case said the investment aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s focus on digital transformation and innovation. The firm said it has supported Saudi Arabia for more than a seven-decade track record, established an on-the-ground presence in 1989, and currently has around 40 lawyers in the Kingdom, including nine partners.
