Workday announced at Workday Rising in Las Vegas that it is making Sana the front door for its platform, launched Agent Harness, and outlined ambient agents and tools for decision and work intelligence. Sana, which Workday acquired a little more than a year ago, is its agentic AI layer that brings tasks, agent activity, meetings and other work into one personalized view. According to Workday, Sana reduces the need for searching and switching context, enables employees to focus, and carries governance and controls across the platform. Sana Home is generally available for multiple Workday customers and is priced under the Flex Credits consumption model. If a customer has Sana Enterprise, the Sana Principal Agent orchestrates across agents and apps.

Agent Harness lets enterprises build AI agents that run in isolated environments and use HR and finance data securely, with context across business processes and built-in memory. Developers can build custom agents with Workday's Developer Agent or frameworks such as Google ADK and TypeScript. Agent Harness supports Workday agents as well as third-party agents that access data over the model context protocol with governance. Workday said Agent Harness is generally available and uses Flex Credits under a consumption-based model.

Workday also took steps toward always-on ambient agents that keep memory and orchestrate workflows continually. It launched Talent Acquisition Agent, which orchestrates workflows across Workday Recruiting, Paradox, HiredScore and skills data, flags requisition risk and surfaces candidate recommendations. Workday said it will be generally available in the first quarter of 2027. Workday Candidate Profile, a candidate-controlled profile that prefills 80% of standard fields in job applications across Workday-hosted career sites, will be generally available in December 2026 and is on by default in Workday Recruiting subscriptions. Workday said it does not perform screening, ranking or decision-making about candidates.

Workday also announced Workday Decision Intelligence, which works across its products, data and business context to run predictive scenarios and execute decisions across Planning, HCM and finance. It also announced Workday Work Intelligence, a catalog of work broken down by tasks, aimed at showing where work can be optimized, automated or augmented, or kept with humans, so enterprises can measure what work costs across humans and AI. Further updates included Admin Agent, AI Localized Payroll, Agentic CLM, Compliance Intelligence, Data Cloud, Developer Agent, Sana Agent Builder and agents for multiple use cases.

Constellation Research analyst Holger Mueller said Workday has delivered on its goal of making Sana the entry point for all its users, making it the only vendor offering an all-purpose agentic interface to start work, not just work inside the enterprise application. He said Workday has delivered useful agentic automation with its always-on paradigm, noting that agents never sleep and do not take days off.
